Assessing the Vocational Achievement Award (A1) & Internal Quality Assurance Award (IQA)

Our VTCT-accredited courses are officially recognised by Ofqual, the UK’s leading qualification regulation board. These courses will train you to become a fully qualified Assessor or Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) within the hair and beauty industry.

While RJL Education specialises in hair and beauty training, both our VTCT Level 3 Assessor and IQA qualifications are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to assess and quality assure NVQ and vocational courses across the sector.

You’ll learn how to plan, prepare, observe, assess, and evaluate learner performance in line with national standards, giving you the confidence to deliver professional assessments in real salon and education environments.

We run NVQ courses throughout the year, meaning you’ll have ample opportunities to observe and assess live learners as part of your qualification.

These courses are combined between 10am – 2pm over 10weeks.

The modules delivered on each of these courses are as follows;

• Understanding the principles of assessment
• Assess occupational competence in the work environment
• Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
• Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
• Internally assure the quality of assessment

You’ll also be guided on how to build a portfolio of evidence for both internal and external assessors.

How is the course assessed?

The qualification is delivered through various workshops one day a week over a 10 week period. You will be assessed by assessing other assessors and 2 learners.

As courses run regularly at our education centre, you won’t need to source your own assessing opportunities or placements.

There is no kit provided with this course. You will require a laptop or Ipad to complete your coursework.
