Our VTCT Level 3 Assessor course is officially recognised by Ofqual, the UK’s leading qualifications regulator, and will train you to become a fully qualified assessor in hair and beauty. While RJL Education specialises in hair and beauty, this course is designed to equip you to assess NVQ learners effectively, preparing, planning, analysing, and evaluating assessments in line with national standards.

Course Details:

  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • In-person training: 1 day per week, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at our Bolton centre
  • Blended learning: Part of the course can be delivered remotely via video meetings, though all assessments must be completed in person
  • 20th January
  • 13th April
  • 3rd June

Our VTCT Level 3 course runs between 10am – 2pm over 6 weeks.
  • Understanding the principles of assessment – Learn how to plan, implement, and evaluate assessments effectively
  • Assess occupational competence in the workplace – Observe and verify learners’ practical skills in real-world settings
  • Assess vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding – Ensure learners meet NVQ standards across all criteria
  • Portfolio development – Guidance on building a comprehensive portfolio of evidence suitable for internal and external verification

How is the Course is Assessed?

The qualification is delivered through weekly workshops over an 8-week period. Assessment involves:

  • Observing and assessing other assessors
  • Assessing two NVQ learners as part of your practical experience
  • Building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence

Since courses run regularly at our academy, all assessment opportunities are provided, so you won’t need to source your own learners or placements.

No kit is provided with this course. However, you will require a laptop or IPad to complete the coursework.

You must be age 16 and above, hold an NVQ Level 2 & 3 or be working towards the NVQ Level 3 qualification in hairdressing or beauty therapy.
